Equal Justice. Honest Leadership. People Over Politics.

Jocelyn Brasher is a former Assistant Attorney General, dedicated public servant, and lifelong Nebraskan. She believes in equal justice under the law, and that the law should work for all Nebraskans, not just those with power or influence. As Attorney General, Jocelyn will focus and prioritize the issues that matter to Nebraskans.

MEET JOCELYN

Jocelyn Brasher is a Nebraska-born public servant who has dedicated her career to protecting Nebraskans and strengthening the communities she calls home. Born on Offutt Air Force Base and raised in Nebraska, Jocelyn was shaped early by a family tradition of service. With a father and grandfathers who served in the United States military, she learned from a young age that leadership means responsibility, integrity, and putting others first.

Jocelyn went to undergraduate school at Auburn University earning her bachelor’s degree in Philosophy. Ready to return home to Nebraska, she attended law school at Creighton University School of Law where she obtained Certificates of Concentration in both Criminal Law and Procedure as well as Litigation. Completing her legal education in just two-and-half-years, Jocelyn graduated in December 2015; and became licensed to practice law in Nebraska in 2016.

Over her decade-long legal career, Jocelyn has served Nebraskans in multiple prosecutorial roles across the state. In law school, Jocelyn was a law clerk in the Douglas County Attorney’s Office, Juvenile Division, where she gained practical experience arguing in front of the Nebraska Court of Appeals twice. After law school, Jocelyn moved to Lexington, Nebraska, where she served as a Deputy Dawson County Attorney, leading the child support enforcement division. She spent five years as an Assistant Attorney General in the Nebraska Attorney General’s Office, Consumer Protection Bureau, where she enforced state and federal consumer protection laws and stood up to fraud, deception, and unfair trade practices that harmed Nebraskans. She next served as a Deputy Dodge County Attorney, where she prosecuted misdemeanor and felony crimes to help keep Nebraska communities safe.

During her tenure at the Attorney General’s Office, from 2018 through 2023, Jocelyn took on leadership roles in complex multistate investigations, working alongside attorneys general from across the country and coordinating with federal partners. Through this work, she built strong, trusted relationships nationwide.

Jocelyn brings the institutional knowledge, experience, sound judgment, and honest leadership needed to run the Attorney General’s Office with efficiency, integrity, and tenacity from day one. She understands how the office operates, where it can be strengthened, and how to ensure it delivers real, meaningful results for Nebraskans.

Her commitment to service extends beyond her professional work. Jocelyn’s most recent example of giving back to her community is demonstrated while working in private practice at Lamson Dugan & Murray LLP – Jocelyn initiated and led a firm-wide clothing drive benefiting the Women’s Center for Advancement, bringing colleagues together to support women and families in the Omaha community. She believes leadership means showing up and giving back, both inside and outside the workplace.

Jocelyn is genuinely excited by the opportunity and would be deeply honored to serve as Nebraska’s next Attorney General, once again working for Nebraska and serving all Nebraskans.

Why are you running?

I’m running for Attorney General because we deserve an Attorney General who works for all Nebraskans—not a political agenda, not one party, and not any other elected office or official. The Attorney General’s Office should be independent, principled, and focused on the people it serves. When that focus is lost, public trust suffers. Nebraska deserves better!

I believe the duty and responsibility of the Attorney General’s Office is to protect families, consumers, and communities—not to play politics. Additionally, the Attorney General’s role is to uphold and enforce the law. My experience as an Assistant Attorney General has shown me that consumer protection, public safety, and the well-being of Nebraska’s families and children are not partisan issues, and the Attorney General must always put Nebraskans first. As Attorney General, I will work across party lines to prioritize making life affordable for Nebraskans utilizing our consumer protection and antitrust laws and strengthening public safety to keep our communities safe – I’m committed to delivering equal justice and serving all Nebraskans!
